Publication of the Regional Public Opinion Survey Report and Discussion with Regional Activists

Barabar Centre, Grand Hotel, Floor IVERA LGBTI - Equal Rights Association for the western Balkans and Turkey in partnership with IPSOS Strategic Marketing have conducted a survey to measure public attitudes and perspectives regarding LGBTIQ+ rights. The research examines personal experiences, attitudes towards LGBTIQ+ rights, opinions on pride parades and stances of political parties towards LGBTIQ+ people. The presentation of this report will reflect social development in the Western Balkans, compared with the data of 2015 report. To discuss this report, activists from the Western Balkans region (Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina) will gather and discuss about the situation in the region when it comes to acceptance, tolerance and non-discrimination of LGBTIQ+ persons by the state, society and family. Furthermore, a special focus will be directed to mental health issues that LGBTIQ+ people have in the region as a result of systematic discrimination, non-acceptance and exclusion.
