Pride Week // June 1 - 5, 2026 The tenth edition of Pride Week in Kosovo is here! EQUALITY OR REVOLT!

To act is more difficult than to speak. Neither, however, seems capable of materializing without the other.

We have decided to act, for ten years now, with our Pride Week—an institution in its own right that has survived all social, political, cultural, and academic developments in Kosovo.

This year, our demands are what they have always been, but stronger, built upon the foundation of our activism that will not bow to the propaganda of various individuals and groups. Equality or Revolt—the slogan of this year's edition of Pride Week can be read in many ways: as a call for our presence in public life, as an appeal inviting us to where major decisions are made about our lives and those of our friends, as a protest against the physical attacks and hate speech addressed to us on a daily basis, and as another celebration of our existence which, like any other existence, neither seeks nor expects acceptance or legitimization.

We have spoken and will continue to speak through actions and our tireless commitment to the rights of the LGBTIQ+ communities in Kosovo. When you protect one person, you are protecting all of humanity. When you defend a human right, you are advancing the consciousness of the world. In this current momentum of Kosovar and global society, advocacy like ours signifies a union for equality, justice, and equal treatment at every door of our social space.

We are committing ourselves to operationalizing a safe shelter for LGBTIQ+ individuals facing violence or exclusion; for the legal recognition of same-sex partnerships and the protection of our families; for equal access to dignified and non-discriminatory healthcare services; for an inclusive education system that does not remain silent about our identities; for effective protection against hate speech and violence. The list is long, but so is our strength.
