PRIDE PARADE 2026

EQUALITY OR REVOLT!

To act is harder than to speak. Yet neither seems possible without the other.

We have chosen to act—now for ten years—through our Pride Week, an institution in itself that has survived all social, political, cultural, and academic developments in Kosovo.

This year, our demands remain the same as always, but stronger—grounded in the foundation of our activism, which will not bow to the propaganda of various individuals or groups. “Equality or Revolt”—the slogan of this year’s Pride Week—can be read in many ways: as a call for our presence in public life, as a demand to be included where major decisions about our lives and those of our friends are made, as a protest against daily physical attacks and hate speech directed at us, and as another celebration of our existence which, like any other existence, does not seek nor wait for acceptance or legitimacy.

We have spoken and we will continue to speak, through our work and our tireless commitment to LGBTIQ+ rights in Kosovo. When you defend one person, you defend all of humanity. When you defend one human right, you advance the consciousness of the world. In the current moment—both in Kosovo and globally—this advocacy means uniting for equality, justice, and equal treatment in every corner of our social space.

We are committed to the functioning of a safe shelter for LGBTIQ+ people facing violence or exclusion; to legal recognition of same-sex partnerships and protection of our families; to equal access to dignified, discrimination-free healthcare services; to inclusive education that does not silence our identities; and to effective protection from hate speech and violence. The list is long—just like our strength.
