The artistic collective HAVEIT (Hana, Vesa, Lola, and Alketa) brought a powerful artistic intervention to Prishtina’s main square at Adem Jashari Square. This performance began with a fundamental question: where do LGBTQI+ young people go when they are rejected by their families and society, and where can they truly feel safe? Conceived as an intervention around the missing shelter for LGBTIQ+ people, this work emphasized the urgency of creating safe spaces and exposed the ways in which even so-called moderate discourse produces violence, pointing out that when society fails to provide shelter, individuals are forced to create their own spaces, however fragile they may be.
